First Christmas

Baby bug,

We had quite the first Christmas! While most of your presents are still unopened (we're waiting for your brothers to do our family Christmas), you still came home with quite the haul. We woke up to your Santa stocking, Santa brought you a super cute hat and a new ornament (among other goodies, including chop stick trainers):

You were a little bit fussy, but you didn't sleep that well (I think you were too excited for Christmas), so I think that was the cause. Daddy helped you open your presents, though you mostly just wanted to chew on the bows:

You got some adorable outfits from Popo & Grammie and Uncle Dobby. Aunt T got you a piano, which you alternated between playing and eating:
Aunt T also got us a new jogging stroller, you seemed to think it was plenty comfortable:

Grammie made us a spectacular breakfast, and you got to use your Aunt Austen's baby spoon for your very first meal (though you've been sampling everything for about a month now). We got you an avocado with some Paula Deen seasoning, it didn't appear to be your very favorite thing, but you did like it. We have a video of it on your youtube channel.

Otherwise you got to play with your favorite Rudolph decoration and hung out with your Popo a bit:

Your sister showed up for the end of the celebration wearing the same sweater as you. She's talking a bit so she said hi to you, though you're not quite capable of doing anything but staring and smiling at this point.

We went from there up to Evergreen for our Jones family celebration. You got handed around quite a bit, but stayed extremely non-fussy. Your cousin Ryan, Aunt Lynne, and Uncle Pooh got you an adorable butterfly bank, you loved how shiny it was). Your cousins Dylan and Cameron, Aunt Melissa, and Uncle Byron got you a blow up rolly thing (for lack of a better description), and some awesome books/toys. We took some pictures at this event that I don't have yet, but I'll add them if I get them. I do have one of you playing with your cousin Cam in his crib, he was very good at sharing and you really liked all of his stuffed animals.

Merry Christmas baby bug, I think you had a great one and I can't wait for the many more to come. I adore you more than anything and can't imagine life without you. Don't think I forgot, Christmas was also your 6 month bday. This will get its own post after your doctors appointment on Friday.

Happy Half Birthday to you....

Darling doll,

There has been a flood of posting lately, but I didn't want your half birthday getting caught up in all of that mess. Here's our progress so far:
0 months
1 month
2 months

3 months
4 months

5 months

And last, but not least....

6 MONTHS!

You are getting absolutely gigantic! You are a whopping 15.1 lbs (30th percentile) and 2' 1.25" (24th percentile). You are right on track developmentally, and the doctor said you were doing great! You put on quite the show for your doctor, you love smiling at her. You did get 4 shots, so you were not so thrilled about that, but you're a trooper so you survived, even if you did glare the rest of the afternoon:

You are getting to be quite the little flirt, you definitely favor men over women, and you love to do this little grin and then act bashful and bury your face into my chest. Absolutely everything you can get your hands on goes into your mouth, and you really seem to like the taste of anything we're willing to give you. You're still not that into any of your toys, but you love being sung to and watching your brothers run around the house. You sleep really well as long as I finish our song before I leave the room, if I leave you songless you tend to throw a huge fit. You are absolutely the little love of my life and I cannot imagine the world without you, I adore you sweet pea! Here are a few other shots for your viewing pleasure.

More Christmas Prep

Little squirms,

We continued our Christmas streak in the days leading up to the big day. Before we got into all the big family stuff we went on a Daddy, Mommy, Kaia date to Daddy's favorite restaurant. He ate way too much crab, and you ate way to much bill (your new favorite maneuver when eating is to take a big handful of whatever is within reach and put it directly into your mouth, in this case you got the bill):

The next day you went to Popo and Grammie's while Daddy and Mommy tried crossfit (ouch!), you seemed to like the decorations, but according to Popo you wouldn't tolerate sitting down. Afterwards we went to John and Katie's party where you got passed around a bit and convinced everyone that you were the world's easiest baby. Yo found a new favorite toy at this one, you couldn't quite detach it and it wasn't edible, so you weren't quite sure what to do with it:

From there we went to Saucy Noodle to see the Pologar's. You ate way too much marnira (you screamed if you were cut off for too long and dove head first into every bite we gave you). You're quite the Watson loving your Saucy Noodle. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of this event, but if anyone else did I need them passed my way.

The next night (I told you this was the epic week), we went to your first Nuggets game. Unfortunately we lost (you can't pull off miracles), but you did get to see Santa again:

We also got to dress you up in your absurd snowman outfit, it's very cozy even if it's completely ridiculous. Everyone at the stadium commented on it, you were the cutest snowman in Colorado:

Finally, on Christmas Eve, we went to Baba's house. She gave you a baby's first ornament and silver spoon and we had a pot luck. Again, I seem to be missing pictures of this event, though I know some were taken so we'll see what I can gather. After Baba's we went to Zoo Lights. It was a bit cold so we broke out the Snowman outfit again. You love staring at lights so this was your favorite event.

We spent the night at Grammie and Popo's so that we could do Christmas morning right. Christmas gets its own post so we'll end this one hear. I love you!

Polar Express

Little bug,

To kick off our epic Christmas week we headed to Canon City to take a train to the North Pole. To get in the spirit we watched the Polar Express, you took the movie as an opportunity for an extra nap:

The drive wasn't too bad, but it was cold when we got down there. You and the boys got to play in Santa's sleigh for a bit:

And then we got on the train, the boys brought Christmas lights for some extra Christmas spirit:

When the train got moving they brought around cookies and hot chocolate. Your brothers wrote letters to Santa (Dear Santa, Presents are Wonderful...Don't bring us tar....), and you just took it easy. After a bit we got to the North Pole to pick up Santa:

We got your out of your PJ's and in to your Christmas dress for your Santa pictures. You fell asleep while we waited, though you woke up to the chants for Santa that the elves led.

When Santa came he gave you a bell from one of the reindeer, you weren't scared of him in the least. The bell went immediately into your mouth.

We got a great picture with Santa, you've been passed around to so many different people that you didn't seem to have a problem in the least with sitting on Santa's lap.

You were quite the little champ, hopefully this is the first of many trips to the North Pole. Love you baby girl!

Christmas Prep

Baby bug,

We are getting ready for your very first Christmas. You haven't rolled since that first time, apparently once you did it once you were done. We've started calling you Miley Cyrus because you now sit around the house with your tongue hanging out (much like a certain out of control pop star). Unlike her, however, you are doing your best to keep this face off camera. Here's the best we got:

Santa sent you and your brothers an early Christmas present, The Grinch for you and The Polar Express for your brothers:

You all love The Grinch, we've read it every night since you got it.

We went up to conifer to get a Christmas tree. A very rich old man on an ATV drove us around his land and your dad picked out the perfect tree. Caleb and Daddy cut it down, while you, Noah and I watched coldly from the background.

The next night we decorated and you got to put on your first ornament.

Here's the finished product...maybe Santa will bring your brother pants that fit for Christmas.

You've been sampling everything I eat...so far you seem to like all of it. Your current dislikes include getting buckled in anything and going to bed. You went to your first Broncos loss. It was fun, but cold and a not so pleasant outcome, here's your newest "bundled" outfit.

Tomorrow we're going on the polar express... Pictures to follow. Love you lots darling daughter!
