My growing bug

Little bug,

Not that this will shock anyone, but I cannot believe you are 8 months old already. It's ridiculous that I can now talk about "the good old days" when you were teenie tiny and did your shark bite feeding etc. You've been around long enough that I now have distant memories. It's sad, but I love current you so much that I can't imagine it being any different. Here's your 8 month shot:

We had to cram that in late, you were in no mood, this was our initial pre-bottle attempt:

Last check you were 16 lbs 5 oz...this was at the doctors visit when you had pink eye. So far we've brought up pink eye, and a series of colds from day care. You're a trooper, but it's kicking my butt :) Your day care loves you, they said the other parents comment on what a little china doll you are because you're always so calmly sitting and playing with your toys. When I come to get you, you do a little flapping bird thing with your arms. It's how you show you're excited about things, one of these days we'll get it on video before it disappears from your repertoire. You are also getting very skilled at the tantrum. You go the route of holding your breath, which I hate, and then releasing a gut wrenching sob. If it were over anything serious I'd be concerned, but you reserve it for the times when I pull receipts out of your mouth, which is not an area we're going to negotiate on. That too, will be on video shortly. You have a bit of your Aunt in you as well, your new favorite game is to hit me with your rattle and then crack up about it. It's the monster baby mean streak.

You're still an exceptionally happy baby. You rarely cry, and if you do, it's pretty much a hunger thing. You eat like a champ, and you are itching to get moving. You seem to want to bypass the crawl, your latest attempts have all been to pull yourself up on something. I think we'll see you stand before we see you move. You've started flipping yourself onto your stomach to sleep, and while it bothered you at first, now it seems to be your preferred sleep position.

You've gone to a bunch of Nuggets games lately, we've also hit the aquarium and children's museum. You love watching people, so it's always a good time. Your sister's talking now, she refers to you as Kaba. The boys find it hilarious.

We had our tax season kick off party, you were quite a hit. It was at a cooking class, and you got passed around the firm the whole time. The experience wore you out a bit:

We also did a CU Alumni event at monkey business, you're not quite mobile enough to really get much out of it, but I did take you through the obstacle course, down the slide, and through the climbing gym.

Anyway, this coming week will be rough. I have to go to Alaska for work for a few days and it was too expensive to bring you with me. It'll be the longest we've ever been a part and I'm already near tears just thinking about it. Your Aunt T and Grandma are taking some time off of work to hang out with you, so you'll be in good hands, but I will be a wreck. Here are a few more miscellaneous shots:

I adore you sweet pea!

Baby Valentine

My little valentine,

Happy first Valentines Day sweet pea! Since I am obsessed with dressing you up, here is your official VAlentine's Day shot:

I know I tell you this all the time, but when you read this some day down the road, I want it to be very clear. You are truly everything I have ever wanted, I can't begin to tell you how it feels when something happens that clearly was so destined to be. I can't imagine my life without you, you came, and you fit perfectly. Like I'd had the space to fill all along. I know we'll fight (Mom's and daughters seem to have the skill), but remember that beneath anything I ever say to you...I love you more than anything in the world, and there is not anything on this planet that I wouldn't do for you if you needed it. I love you my little Valentine.

Baby Superstar

Baby Doll,

It's been (as usual) an eventful couple of weeks. Your Popo and your Daddy both had birthdays to celebrate, and we celebrated with food:

Daddy had his dinner at Yabby Hut with your Nanna and brothers. He ate so much crab that he successfully got on the craw of fame. You got Daddy a card, but tried to eat it so you didn't get to sign it.

Popo's birthday was at Saucy Noodle. You also got Popo a card, but again, you feel the need to eat everything so we could get you to sign it.

We've been watching a lot of football lately, the Broncos went all the way to the Superbowl, which gave us a chance to get you in a super adorable Broncos outfit. Unfortunately, the game was terrible, though Daddy made you a ball pit so you didn't seem to upset about it.

We've also gone to a couple of Nuggets games recently, you are batting 1000 at getting on the big screen, which always elicits a large "awwww" from the crowd. You also met Rocky, who took you and tried to eat you.

You just finished your first week at your new preschool. Everyone there completely adores you. Which is not shocking, you are by far the world's sweetest most easy going baby. Your teachers love you and the highschool girls that help out were all over you tonight. You are very content to pick through a toy bucket in a very deliberate manner, unlike your classmates who would prefer to dump it all at once. You are learning a lot at school, but you don't sleep well there, which has helped ensure that you sleep well at night.

You had a developmental checkup on Monday and they told you that you were slightly behind in gross motor skills because you weren't rolling over. That night, you started rolling over. You really don't seem to like being told you're behind. They also told me you are ahead with your fine motor skills (i.e. your ability to pick EVERYTHING up and get it ito your mouth), and that you're extremely expressive. They also think you may be ignoring your name on purpose (you don't respond when your name is called, but you respond to everything else, which leads us to believe you're doing it on purpose). Overall you are perfectly on track and extremely sweet:

You haven't quite figured out the pacifier nonsense, you like to chew on everything but the pacifier piece of the pacifier. Your favorite thing to do is to suck on the back of the pacifier.

You love your brothers an insane amount. Noah calls you "our girl" and Caleb likes to cuddle and smooch you:

You have just started to full out giggle, we'll do our best to get it on tape sometime in the near future. That and your new rolling abilities. I cannot tell you how extremely lucky I feel to have you, I cannot think of anything in my life that could possibly go wrong enough that I could ever be unhappy. Everything just feels right now that you're around, my only problem is that I have a hard time wanting to do anything that you are not a part of. We'll work on that. I love you baby girl, here are a couple more pictures from the last couple weeks:
