Spring Antics

Bugs,

I am so incredibly lucky to be your Mom. There is truly nothing else in the world that has made me even a fraction as happy as having you in my life. I love every minute with you, even the tough ones, and I wouldn't trade it in for anything. I know Mother's Day is technically about me, but in all honesty...having you is celebration enough (though I may be singing a different tune in a few years so don't think you're out of the woods yet).

I did just hear from your daycare that you've taken it on yourself to start potty training on you own. You used the potty all by yourself for the first time today, not a bad present for your 2nd Mother's day :).

You radiate personality. We are constantly getting comments from strangers on how happy and adorable you are. You love life. You love your siblings. You love your family and friends. In fact, one of you new favorite sayings is..."oooooh...I love it!" . You are a great eater, though you've learned the phrase "I don't like it" from school, so every once in a while we hear a bit of that. You are extremely verbal, not so advanced on your gross motor skills. Your jumping, while adorable, does not actually see either foot leaving the ground. You are so tiny that I think that has a lot to do with it.

Here are some pictures of your latest antics. We've been out and about as usual. Denver Outlaws games, playing outside, lots of trips to Home Depot (the water heater broke), and general causing havoc with Emma, your brothers, and our neighbor Kynlee.

There have been a lot of videos lately, but here's the most recent of you cracking yourself up.

I adore you sweet girl. Thank you for making me a Mom.

Easter bug

Baby doll,

You had quite the eventful Easter. One at our house in the morning, then one at Gammie and Popo's and a final one at Uncle Byron & Aunt Melissa's in the mountains. You liked searching for eggs, but weren't such a fan of braving the elements to pick them up yourself. You did a lot of pointing them out for me to go retrieve for you.

I'm continuously in awe of how much I love you. anyone that knows me knows how much I have always wanted to be a Mom, but it's incredible that it can still feel so perfect. You love your siblings and playing outside. You also like bubbles, singing, dancing, and slides. I love chatting with you in the car on our way to and from daycare. You love to be "wacky" and crack yourself up saying silly things. You learned the word 'booty' at school so you like to chat about that, but I think it's mostly because you know it'll make me laugh. You also hate when the sun 'gets you', so you have to have sunglasses in the car or you'll lose it. You are one very spunky adorable little girl and I love you so much.

March update

Oh little bug, I just adore you. You crack me up constantly. Your daycare calls you sassy, I'd call it spunk, but whatever it is you are full of personality. You love being the center of attention and like to act especially goofy when you know people are watching. You're still a pretty good eater, though you seem to have slowed down a bit from you old eat everything days. You've started dressing yourself which has been endlessly amusing:

You especially love boots...snow or rain, you don't really seem to care which. And you LOVE wearing sunglasses, a lot.

We celebrated St. Paddy's Day in style, as usual. We went to the parade downtown with all of your siblings. You liked the floats and dancers quite a bit:

In other March news...we celebrated Mykiah's birthday, you've been helping me with my work, and we've been going to Nuggets games/hanging out at home:

You've been working on all sorts of new words, you're extremely verbal. You love reading, your siblings, and slides. Your favorite foods are peas, blueberries, and oranges.

Here are a few of the more amusing videos from the month. You HATE cotton candy on your hands (you hate messes on your hands in general):

You also had a lot of fun playing boats with Daddy as the snow melted in front of our house:

I adore you little girl, I am so lucky o have you in my life. I love you Kaia.

The monster emerges

Oh my goodness little girl, you had me scared there. Last week you got super sick (throwing up, fever, exhaustion..the works), you recovered fine, but I was semi convinced that you may have skipped the flu and been bitten by a radioactive spider who transformed you into a 'monster baby'. Following your illness you were a terror. I'm fairly certain you said nothing buy variations of 'No' for 3 days straight. "Noooo mommy!!" "NOOOO!". Not particularly about anything, you'd just sit in a corner, by your self, screaming no. I wasn't sure how I'd handle this if this was going to be your terrible twos. All the way to work in the car I'd hear a little voice is the back seat "noooo mommy!, no! no!". At one point you picked a fight with a paper towel roll..thrashing back and forth on the ground, screaming at it as it kept rolling back at you. It was rough.

Fortunately, you seem to be over it that phase already. Which is good, I wasn't sure what we were going to do with you. You've been in high spirits ever since. You LOVE your teacher (Miss Erica) and yell "Yay Erica!" every time we pull up to your school. You're also doing this thing called jump bunch at school where you play with different athletic related things, you LOVE it. Here's a video...it's super long, but the end is worth watching. You are so proud of yourself and are usually beaming as you do different moves:

You're also working on counting. Though you mostly do "1...2...5...1..." and then either "Jump bunch!" or "Friday!". I love the sentiment even if the counting is suspect.

You adore your siblings and are always ecstatic to see them when they get home. Alright, I'm buried in work so here's some recent pics before I get back to it. I adore you sweet pea!

Love of my life

Hey baby bug,

You are continuing your trend as a total crack up. You routinely break into dance on your own, or babble incoherently to anyone within earshot. We've been up to a lot lately. Here's the run down:

On Valentine's Day we got a few little gifts before Daddy cooked dinner for Mommy. You wore your Valentine's Day finest for the occassion:

The rest of the day we went Wedding Dress shopping and played at the Park with Aunt T. You were a trooper and liked to tell me how preeeeetttty I looked. Last week when I put on the first dress you exclamed "Elsa!" which I take as a compliment of the highest order. Then you demanded it was your turn.

You continue to be the world's wackiest sleeper, I go into your room every night to make sure all arms and legs are inside the bed.

You also got all dolled up for your Valentine's Day party at school, though the morning picture was a bit rough (you are not even sort of a morning person).

I've been letting you have more input on dressing yourself..below is the outcome:

You also insist on wearing Emma's rainboots just about everywhere. They're too big for you so it makes it a challenge for you to move around a whole lot.

For the Superbowl you put on your own half time show when you saw all the pretty dancers, I of course caught it after your impromptu dance so there's far more mommy prodding than necessary :):

We also went to see Disney Jr. at the Bellco Theater, it was your first play. You loved it, or at least you loved the Mickey and Sofia (fia!) parts, you danced and yelled for your favorites when they came on stage. The pirate part wasn't really your favorite.

Otherwise we've been hanging out, working, spending times with grandparents, and living it up in general. You are turning into such a little toddler and have an opinion on just about everything.  You saved up all your teething for now, so you've got a whole mouth of teeth coming in at once. You are very bossy and like to yell at anyone and anything that doesn't give you what you want (including blankets, tables, and chairs). You are really into signing at the moment, you especially like ABC and "row row", with "Patty cake" thrown in to mix it up. We're finally getting over your frozen stage, you like  Mickey, Fia (sofia the first), and Elmo the best right now. You love baby dolls and my little pony, and occasionally a good truck. Mostly, you LOVE to read.

As always, I adore you sweet pea. Happy Valentine's Day sweet girl. MWAH!

And also...Happy Birthday Baba, we love you!

Daddy Days

Buggy,

You continue to be quite the crack up. But this post specifically is about your days with Daddy in the mountains. Mommy had to work, so Daddy came up to hang out with you. You guys were living the dream. You went to breakfast together (Daddy said you were excellent company) and all the people at the restaurant were in awe at how well behaved you are...and how much you can eat. You also went to the science museum, watched some Frozen, and hung out in the Hot Tub. Here are some pics:

You love your monkey, you like to make him jump on things so that you can tell him 'No Monkey, No!' It's from your favorite song about monkeys jumping on the bed. Nothing else super noteworthy, you're finally getting some more teeth so I can stop worrying that you've got all you're getting. You are impossible to try to sleep with, you got upset the other night so I tried to let you sleep with me...you proceed to lie directly on my head...though you'd readjust about every 30 seconds. Then you'd get really quiet and I'd think you'd finally fallen asleep, only to hear 'No blankey! No!'..you like to lecture anything that isn't doing what you'd like.

You are in love with your teacher, Miss Erica, at school..so that's made dropping you off much easier. In general you are a very bossy, spunky, and well loved child. I can't believe how lucky I got having you. Here are a few more random pictures from this month:

I adore you baby girl!!
