3rd Birthday Girl

We finally got through all your bday parties (you have lots) and you had a blast. We were very much mermaid themed this yar and we went all out. We had dinner at the Aquarium with Popo and Gammie and you were in high spirits. They got you all sorts of mermaid stuff which you love (your brother has not stopped his lobbying to steal your new mermaid tail since you got it):

 

Then we had your birthday party at the park. Princess Ariel made a surprise visit and you just weren't sure how to handle yourself. We got a glimpse of what a nervous Kaia may be like in the future as you kept inserting random facts into awkward places "I have a birthday party!", "I got a mermaid cake!". She was so nice and sand a song and read you all a book. You had a great time with her as well as all of your friends who came out to celebrate with you.

 

 

You're not sure you want to be 3, you keep talking about your next birthday when you get to be 2 again, so we'll see how that turns out for you. I can't believe how big you're getting, I love you sweet bug!!

Not so little bug,

I'm sorry I'm so delinquent, this has been a rough work year. I am amazed at what an empathetic toddler you are. You are always making sure your siblings save things for your mommy and that everyone is being taken care of. You told me last week that the financial statements I prepared "looked terrific mama!". You are extremely in love with your siblings and like to tell everyone about "your boys". 

I'm 21 weeks pregnant with your new baby brother, and you could not be more excited. You love to talk to him, share your food, and give him hugs and kisses. You also love to talk back for him and he appears to love his big sister Kaia.

We just got back from Japan. You did great. Your favorite part according to you was the 'rice'. You also loved mermaid lagoon at mermaid sea. You were a champ on the plane. You watched about 20 minutes of every movie offered, and didn't throw a single fit. You would wake up in the morning and exclaim "whew...what a long nap!" Or "sky's awake!". You did great!

You have a best friend at school named Bethany that you are attached at the hop to. It's the cutest thing on the planet. 

Your 3rd bday is just around the corner.  So I'll update after your party. I love you more than I could ever explain. Love you sweet girl!!
