My 7?! month old

Baby girl,

Oh man were they right when they said time flies. I cannot believe you are 7 months old already! This past month has been hectic, and you're about to go through your first of many tax seasons as a CPA's kid (don't worry we all survived it). You continue to be the world's sweetest, easiest baby..though this teething thing has you a bit off your norm. You have the world's most heartbreaking cry, it'll serve you well in getting your way. We won't have an official weight on your for a while, you're in the 15-16lbs range at the moment, we'll see if we can get you on a scale in the near future.

7 months
After your 7 month photo you proceeded to beat up poor Raggedy Anne...

You are very smiley, you talk up a storm, and you can rollover (though you mostly choose not to). We've also established that you can hold a crawl position if we set you up for it, but you can't get into it yourself or move once you're there:

You ADORE your brothers, if either of them talks to you, you grin and laugh and babble something at them. They in turn, love to dress you up.

We've been working on introducing food to your diet, you still love guacamole/avocados and marinara best, but we've been working on yogurt, green beens, and carrots. You refuse to let me feed you, and insist on grabbing the spoon from me, smearing your food all over your face and spitting up half of whatever makes its way into your mouth. It's amusing, if not entirely productive.

We've continued the swim lessons, you now go underwater, and even from the start you have never made a peep about it.

You're starting to grab anything you can get your hands on, including light sabers:

The last few nights have been a bit rough, you're teething and apparently that means you do not want to be left alone to fall asleep. We had one very rough night where you were up every hour until I threw in the towel and slept with you, you woke up the next morning all grins, while I was a bit more impacted by the whole night. We've spent a few nights as cuddle buddies, but more often than not I hang with you til you're asleep than let you splay out in your crib on your own:

I think we're in our final weeks of a non-moving baby, so life is about to get hectic fast. Your nanny, Dayane, left us this past week so you'll be starting at a real school on February 1st. It's closer to my office so I'm excited to be able to come visit you during the day. It's a great school, Lawton Taylor Academy, and I think you're really going to like it there.

You are absolutely everything I've always wanted and I cannot tell you how lucky I feel to finally have you. Like your Daddy tells you...it's very hard to be grumpy when we get to see your smiley little face. Here are a few more random pictures from the month that haven't made their way to the blog yet:

Swimming baby

Kaia bear,

We've kicked off the new year in typical fashion...we've stayed very busy. You gave me a scare and got yourself pretty sick. Nothing serious, a couple infections and a cold, but you were about as unhappy a baby as I've ever seen. It takes a lot to make you fussy, now we know three illnesses at once is about your max. We made an emergency trip to the doctor and got you some antibiotics and you've been much better ever since.

On Saturday you had your first swim lesson. You are pretty indifferent to the water, you pose every time you're in the water (head up, chest out, arms back) and float around without reacting much to anything. You did great as usual.

That night we went to the neighbors house. The little girl, Kynley, is a big fan of yours. She's 3 and had lots to teach you. She showed you how to crawl, and walk. And then gave you lots of  advice on things like how to be a princess (meet a boy and fall in love) and how to eat (we don't wat dolls, we eat fruits and veggies).

Today we just lounged around the house. Your brother is also sick so we took it pretty easy. I adore you sweet pea, get better soon!

Sometimes in life...you just end up in a bucket...

I have two more extensive posts waiting on some additional pictures, but the meantime...

Your Nanny (who is soon to be no more) took this of you today. I pretty much love it, you've got your easy going "sometimes this is just the way it goes" face. I love you lots little pea!

End of the season

Baby bug,

Your brothers finally got back in town so we could do our Goldman family Christmas, we picked them up at the airport and went to Grandma's for another Christmas (we have a lot of them). You got to eat some blueberries for the first time, which you of course loved.

You got some super cute clothes, The Butterbattle Book, the 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cummins, and a pop up toy. You are one spoiled well dressed little baby.

The next morning we got up and got our Santa presents. You got a Sonia cabbage patch doll from Santa, you tried to eat her. Your stocking had lots of other things to chew on, your favorite is your new crumple paper giraffe. You also liked your brothers light sabers quite a bit.

On New Years Eve we went ice skating and stayed at a local hotel. We ate dinner at Old Chicago where you reaffirmed marinara sauce as your all time favorite food. After that we went and got ice cream which you insisted on feeding to yourself:

We played at the pool for a bit until we got mobbed by teenagers, then we spent the rest of the night chilling in the room. You did one fantastic 2014 dance (complete with confusion over the discovery of your hand):

You made it to east coast New Years (10) and you were my first kiss for that new year. Then you went to bed.

I love you a ton my baby girl, happy 2014! Here are a few more random pictures that didn't really fit anywhere else:
